CoVeil : Veil of Heritage
In this project, I designed a 3D exhibition booth with the theme Veil of Heritage for an ethnic fashion brand, CoVeil. This corner-type booth (approx. 5 x 5 meters) is designed with a clear entry on the right side and exit on the left side, framed by layered fabric displays. The core idea was to create a space that feels both traditional and intimate, where visitors gradually unveil the stories behind the textiles.
This work is part of a series of 3D Booth Exhibition Designs under @copencopter projects. This design was created with no clients, no restrictions, and only my free reign [an unbuilt work/conceptual]. The brand is fictional and developed for design exploration.

Reflection: Designing Cultural EncountersPART I. Design Concepts: Layers of Heritage
The design was inspired by the act of unveiling fabrics (veil) and the layered textures of heritage. Materials such as wood, limewash walls, sheer curtains, and rotan accents were combined to evoke the atmosphere of a traditional home with a timeless quality.
The goal was to make the booth not only a product showcase but also a curated cultural journey, from fabric displays and mirrors for self-reflection to interactive workshops where visitors bring home a piece of the experience.
PART II. Experiential Zones: 5 Key Areas
The booth layout is divided into six key functional zones:
(a) Fabric Display (Entrance Right): textiles displayed with an open curtain, inviting visitors to enter while symbolizing the act of unveiling.
(b) Mannequin Showcase (Corner Highlight): a central fabric-and-mannequin display designed to be visible from outside, framed with LED canopy lighting.
(c) Mirror Styling Area: a large mirror behind the display allows visitors to visualize and match fabrics to their own size and style, simulating a tailoring experience.
(d) Mini Lounge & Media Zone: a corner with seating and a TV/screen for brand storytelling, consultation, and cultural presentation.
(e) Workshop Corner: an interactive zone where visitors can try hand-stamping/hand-canting batik on tote bags as a takeaway souvenir.
Wooden plaques with the brand name are placed at both entry and exit, reinforcing identity while adding a nostalgic, vintage touch.
PART III. Design Process & Visualization
The booth was modeled in SketchUp and rendered in Lumion, with lighting carefully balanced: neutral white to preserve fabric colors and warm accent lights to create intimacy in lounge and workshop zones.
The main design challenge was to balance aesthetic storytelling with functional flow, ensuring the booth feels immersive while keeping circulation clear.
PART IV. Reflection: Designing Cultural Encounters
Through this project, I learned that a booth can act as a cultural bridge, not just a commercial showcase. By combining layered visuals, reflective surfaces, and hands-on activities, CoVeil offers an experience where visitors don’t only see textiles but also feel their relevance and heritage in everyday life.
