Wild Mountain : Into The Wild
In this project, I designed a 3D exhibition booth with the theme Into the Wild for a fictional outdoor gear brand, Wild Mountain. This peninsula-type booth (approx. 8 x 10 meters) is designed with an open circulation and one large gate, allowing visitors to explore the immersive “camp in the valley” atmosphere. The core idea was to create a natural, adventurous environment inspired by mountains, valleys, and the warmth of camping around a fire.
This work is part of a series of 3D Booth Exhibition Designs under @copencopter projects. This design was created with no clients, no restrictions, and only my free reign [an unbuilt work/conceptual]. The brand is fictional and developed for design exploration.

PART I. Design Concepts: Back to Nature
The design draws inspiration from the duality of valleys and mountains combined with the nostalgic feeling of camping by a campfire. Materiality plays a strong role in evoking the outdoors: artificial turf for valley ground cover, timber textures for warmth, beige canvas for tents and displays, and natural stone finishes for ruggedness. A large backdrop with printed mountain landscapes enhances the immersive setting.
The aim was to make the booth not only a product showcase but also a curated outdoor journey where visitors can “gear up” while feeling the spirit of freedom and adventure. The tagline Live the Adventure. Gear Up Here. becomes the guiding principle of the design.
PART II. Experiential Zones: 6 Key Areas
The booth layout is divided into six key functional zones:
(a) Entry Gate & Counter: Wooden frame with stone texture as a welcoming threshold.
(b) Apparel Display: Presented alongside canvas tent structures, reinforcing the brand’s outdoor spirit.
(c) Cooking Gear Display: Set on timber counters with rugged detailing, evoking campsite utility.
(d) LED Campfire (Centerpiece): The heart of the booth, glowing with simulated firelight to symbolize warmth and gathering.
(e) Camping Tools Display & Media Zone: Arranged against a mountain backdrop with an LED screen, blending storytelling with product showcase.
(f) Lounge Area + Counter: Finished with synthetic grass flooring and wood seating, creating a communal camping, like rest spot before exiting.
Together, these zones guide visitors through a condensed camping journey for gearing up, gathering around the fire, listening to stories, and resting; while also immersing them in the adventurous identity of Wild Mountain.
PART III. Design Process & Visualization
The booth was modeled in SketchUp and rendered in Lumion. Lighting was designed to replicate outdoor moods: warm ambient lighting for natural comfort, complemented by spot highlights on product zones. The campfire centerpiece uses LED simulation, adding a dynamic glow as the focal point.
The main design challenge was balancing realism with functionality which meant to ensuring the booth feels immersive and adventurous while maintaining clear circulation and product visibility.
PART IV. Reflection: Designing Experiences, Not Just Displays
Through this project, I learned that exhibition booths can become more than sales spaces; they can stage experiences that reflect the brand’s lifestyle. With Wild Mountain, the goal was to transport visitors into a condensed camping journey where the freedom of the mountains, the calm of valleys, and the warmth of gathering around a campfire meet in one cohesive environment.
